Last Monday, after a half an hour nap, Jimmy & I got ready and headed to the airport with his mom. Checked in and had a little something for breakfast before we sent his mom off as she was going to catch a flight for work, while Jimmy and I made our way to Gate E12 and boarded SQ942!!!
After 2.5hours of flight, we arrived in Bali! :D It was our first time travelling to an unfamiliar place with just the two of us. It was a pretty good experience, learning how to survive and plan our own activities to keep us occupied throughout the past 5 days. & surprisingly, we woke up every morning for the resort’s breakfast! hehe!

We stayed at The Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso Bali, & I love the room because of the comfortable lighting!
Day 1
After checking in to the resort, we took a rest before we head out for lunch and took a walk along the beach. It was beautiful! The colours of the sky, sand, sea, trees and every single thing infront of us just matched perfectly.
Kinda plan what we wanna do for each day then went back to the room to watch some teevee. The first day was really relaxed. Then we had buffet dinner and then went to the guest service manager to plan some activities for our third day. We turned in quite early as we have to be up early the next day.

Day 2
We took a cab down to the Waterbom Park, Kuta, after breakfast! Sadly I didn’t take many pictures because I thought it was a hassle to bring the waterproof camera while playing the water rides. So I have a video below of how the water park is like! I love ‘Climax’ & ‘Smash Down’, super thrilling! This place is really so much better than the Wild Wild Wet we have in Singapore! It’s a must go place if you are going to visit Bali!
After much fun, we had lunch at the A&W in Discovery Mall, just across Waterbom park ! We walked around the place, had ice cream @ Cold Stone Creamery before we head back to the resort for some theme buffet dinner! It was Balinese theme!
Day 3
After breakfast, we were driven to a place to prepare ourselves for Seawalker! It was amazing! I have the video in a disc of Jimmy & I in the sea with the fishes, but I can’t upload it because it's a DVD :( But you can try Googling it. It was an awesome experience when you get to see the fishes right infront of you, I even get to touch some of them while feeding them bread!
After Seawalker, we went back to the resort for lunch, rest awhile before we had our Balinese spa that was recommended by the guest service manager at the resort :)
That night's dinner was Mediterranean theme!
Day 4
We woke up earlier than the past few days for breakfast and off to tour around Bali with Gusti! He is a free lance tour guide/driver under a small company, English educated and has a very bubbly character! He replaced Sugi on that day because he had some family stuff to settle. I came across Sugi's Email from Tripadvisor, recommended by some random person so i emailed him. He was very efficient and polite in the email, too bad I didn't get to meet him during my trip. Nonetheless, Gusti did a great job in introducing us to the culture of Bali.
We went to a place where we learn how batik is produced.
Next, we drop by the Gold & Silver smith place.
Temple...
Wood Carving...
& Elephant Cave...
Fruit plantation, here we also learnt the process of how coffee is made!
We get to test the different types of coffee with the company of a rice terrace view. The feeling was indescribably awesome!
Then Gusti drove us out and stop somewhere nearby for us to see a better view of the rice terrace!
(Left: Gusti, with a very wide smile!, Right: Jimmy, the muscular man) haha!
Then Gusti brought us to a place for lunch, where we have a view of a rice padi! At that moment, I feel so relax with zero worries in my mind.
I had satay smoked duck & Jimmy had crispy duck! The portion is more than enough to fill my tummy, which means i overate on that meal. haha!
The second last stop was the Monkey Forest! Monkeys were out there literally everywhere at that place. Feels kinda dangerous but at that point when we were there, they were safe enough to take a picture with. Just don't hold any food on your hand.
After that, last stop was some factory outlets to get stuff for Jimmy's family :) A blink of an eye, one day has passed. from 9.30am to 7.30pm, 10hours of tour with Gusti was a wonderful experience! Jimmy and I had a great day touring around Bali and was glad to make a new friend there. Anyone out there who is reading this post and is thinking of travelling to Bali, you may contact Gusti at arsanagusti@yahoo.co m OR Sugi at sugi_29@hotmail.com
Back to the resort for dinner, the last night for us was Seafood Theme!
On the last day, after breakfast, we checked out from the room and left the resort to the airport :(
Back in reality on 13 April 2012, 3.43pm. Sigh...
I wish I was in Bali for a few days longer, or perhaps I should plan for another vacation soon? I feel like going to Bangkok now but I am kinda broke. Shall work & save up some money for it in June? I hope Jimmy & I can go for it, like before he enters NS.
Till then,
