Before yesterday, I have been looking forward to my visit to Antoinette with Jimmy. However, I left the place with much disappointments.
When I first step into the place, it felt so haunted because I see no one in the shop (I don't even know whether it was open or not before entering). When I walked further in, I saw a manager and a chef. The moment I saw the manager/ waiter, he was using his phone, and this sets in a bad impression to me. He did not lead us to our seats, instead he just point to a corner, expecting us to choose a place ourselves. Maybe he wants to give us the freedom to choose where we want to sit, ok fine.
He cleaned our table, which he was supposed to do so even before we came. He placed the menu on the table afterwards then when I flipped through then I realise it doesn't serve main courses. Only breakfast, salads, desserts, crepes and teas, like high tea style. So we just ordered desserts and both came as ice creams (which I expected cakes) and a crepe. I did not realise until I ate halfway but it was all too late. I did not know that they also serve the ice cream version of the cakes because all the reviews that I've seen did not mention about frozen desserts at all. :(
I ate unhappily and left the place without a satisfied tummy. I admit that I was the one to blame for not asking or looking carefully, but I think the manager/ waiter should also play a part in confirming my order before serving it to my face. I just feel disappointed. There's no one in the shop, only the both of us, yet the service can still be so terrible.
I think it will take quite awhile for me to visit Antoinette again, and I'll definitely not visit the same outlet anymore.
cheers,
Jaslyn
