Regarding the previous post about the Jetstar Promo, It's been
booked!!! This time I will be travelling with Jimmy, Sab, WT, Cheryl and Kris
to BKK! Woohoo! Too cheap to be true! 4D3N only $236 per pax (everything
included, I mean Flight + Accommodation, except check-in baggage) CHEAP RIGHT?! Yaye! 2 trips within a month!
And recently I was told about Phuket's air ticket, $78 to and fro (inclusive of
tax, fuel, etc)! Say what?! Made me feel like going for another! :(
The BKK hotel we've booked
this time is called Mandarin Hotel by Centrepoint! My first time there but I am
already super duper excited after reading the comments from Agoda! It is 2 or 3
stations away from the central area but still very convenient because there is
BTS and MRT just 6 mins walk away from the hotel :) & we booked it at Agoda
for $170 for 3 nights!!! 2 pax to a room, so $85 per pax for 3 nights!
After this experience, I have
realised that promo fares may drop their prices even more around the last 2
days of the promo! BECAUSE the next day after we have booked our flights, the
prices dropped by around $10-$20?! But the down side of waiting till the last 2
days is that the flights may be so popular that they may be fully booked. So
it's up the individual's preference, the period that you’re going and the
destination of the trip. But in the future, I’ll definitely try to book it the
last 2 days and update about it.
For the Hotel, I’ve been
booking through Agoda since the time I know about it and I don’t have any
problem with it so far. Like flight prices, some days they do have superdeals
or promotions, so it’s better to monitor for a while before booking. Most
importantly, compare with the hotel’s website and other hotel booking sites
(e.g. Hotel.com, etc) before you set your mind to book one. Also for this trip,
I’ve googled for any promo codes before checking out and guess what! They have
additional 5% off for Maybank Card users! So I got my brother to book it for me
to enjoy the discount! It is important to look out or research for promo codes
for online shoppers, sometimes the little things you save will accumulate to A
LOT! Not trying to be like a Kiasu Aunty here but I am on a budget, haha!
For Hong Kong's Accommodation, I've booked a 1 bedroom apartment Via Airbnb! My first time trying it out because I find the hotel room's prices over there quite pricey. Oh, they do have promo codes too! I managed to save $50 upon applying the code during check out! :d Happy me hehe!
So please bear in mind, for those who want to travel but still save some money here and there,
- Do up your research for flight and hotel promos (http://singpromos.com/airlines-flights/) first.
- Monitor the flight prices 1 week before the promo ends.
- Try not to be Kiasu like me, and book your flights on the 2nd last day of the promo (if you dare to risk).
- Monitor hotel prices as when you are free. (I've monitored for about 3 weeks before booking it).
- Google for promo codes before checking out.
